Simple Detox Tips for Everyday Life
We are exposed to so many toxins on a daily basis, just by breathing. So, it is important to incorporate cleansing foods. Remember that habits take time to form and anything you discipline yourself to do, you will do it!! Our bodies are amazing! Let’s not wait for our health to be taken away from us to start making changes! Start now! Here are a few simple tips to start implementing daily in your everyday lifestyle.
Drink Smoothies!! Smoothies are a great way to get a ton of nutrients all in one drink! I truly love smoothies and I feel it is important to add to your daily regimen. This is a perfect way to drink your daily greens, fiber, omega’s and antioxidants. Cheers!!
TIP! Add flaxseeds and drink your greens in smoothie form, for fiber and omega’s. Fiber is important for cleansing! Fiber is like a swiffer sweeper, binding to toxins and flushing them away!
TIP! I like powdered greens. Sometimes we are on the go and don’t have time to make green juices or smoothies. Of course, fresh greens are best! You can add powdered greens to your smoothies, water, and coconut water on the go!
Detox Waters! Water is important, especially when it comes to detoxing. Adding fruits to your water, also helps to detox your body! Warm water with lime or lemon first thing (after you cleanse your mouth) in the morning, on an empty stomach is great too.
Oil Pulling! Is an ancient Ayurvedic dental technique. You swish a tablespoon of oil in your mouth on an empty stomach, for about twenty minutes. I use sesame oil! This is supposed to draw out toxins in your body, primarily to improve oral health as well as your overall health.
TIP! Eat light to heavy! You should be eating light in the morning. A lot of people think that eating a heavy breakfast like, eggs, pancakes and bacon is ideal. Let me tell you, it is not!! Ever noticed that when you eat that way, you feel exhausted and have no energy for the rest of the day! That is because your body will be breaking down those foods for the rest of the day, added with all the other stuff you will be eating. So, to break your fast, you should be eating light.
Supplements! Adding certain supplements to your daily diet, will help you body detox on a daily!
Probiotics! I constantly talk about probiotics! Very important for you overall health. Helping keep your gut flora and a healthy microbiome!
Digestive Enzymes! For some, adding digestive enzymes to your regimen will help your digestion immensely! Many of us pair our foods wrong, which can cause your digestive system to work hard. Adding digestive enzymes to help break down your foods will help to detoxify.
Multi-vitamin! A good multi-vitamin, for security, to make sure you’re getting your daily dose of vitamins. You want to make sure your vitamins are free of of synthetic ingredients and additives. I love Garden of Life Multi-vitamins.
Spirulina and Chlorella! Tablet or powder form. It is also great to add to smoothies.
TIP! Adding a dash of cayenne pepper to your detox waters and fruit activates your metabolism and clears mucus build up!
Buy Organic! This is important to eliminate as much pesticides as you can from your daily diet.
TIP! Eat fruit on an empty stomach for healthy digestion!
De-clutter your environment! You will be surprised on the effects a cluttered environment has on your mental health! Your mind is cluttered, you become anxious, you are stressed, and you cannot get things done. De-cluttering your environment is essential for detoxifying your mind!
Meditate and yoga! Oh, mental health is important too!! It is important to eliminate stress!! Stress releases tons of unhealthy hormones in our bodies. Learning to breathe and control your thoughts can be a very difficult thing. Adding meditation and yoga for 10-30 mins a day can be life changing!!
Dry skin brushing! Your skin is your largest organ! It has tons of bacteria, good and bad, on it! It sheds and toxins are released through our pores. It is important to exfoliate and rid the skin of its toxins. Dry skin brushing helps promote healthy lymphatic flow, blood circulation, unclogs pores, stimulates nervous system, helps cellulite, and keeps the skins soft and healthy.
TIP: Don’t forget to BREATHE!!!!!!
Knowing that you’ve ate great throughout the day, foods that aide in keeping your body healthy, truly should make you feel great!! You will start to have more energy just by simply changing a few things!! Stick with it. Consistency is key!
